On 23 January 2015, the XV-th Dnepropetrovsk Territorial Union Organization of coal-miming industry of Ukraine (PRUP) report-and-election conference was held at “DTEK PavlogradCoal” office building.

Sergey Yunak, the PRUP leader, reported on the union organization work and activities for the period 12 February 2010 through 23 January 2015. He specified tasks and problems which have been solved by the unions for 5 years. They were as follows: increase in the wage rate, 2011 industrial crisis overcoming, making proposals of union organizations to the establishment of remuneration of labor fund on the increase in the official rate of salary, to the system of “Hay-Group” remuneration of labor, issues associated with the supply of high-quality mining equipment. In 2011 due to the wall-face downtime it was lost 1 670 million MT coal. In June 2010 PRUP achieved to get busses and trucks (about 250 people) returned to the “DTEK PavlogradCoal” trucking company, as enterprises where buses and trucks were transferred did not meet labor condition and payment requirements.

All positive changes and updates regarding the remuneration of labor and increase in social insurance were fixed in obligations of “DTEK PavlogradCoal” current Collective Agreement, in spite of some confrontation of administration in period of Collective agreement campaign in 2011 and first quarter of 2012. Having protected social and economic rights of “DTEK PavlogradCoal” employees for 5 years, PRUP sent the addresses and demands to the National mediation and reconciliation services to take measures to “DTEK PavlogradCoal” management for violation of employees rights.

Sergey Yunak emphasized the significance of “DTEK PavlogradCoal” mine-workers in the power engineering of our country in the existing political and economic situation. According to the Union leader the level of operations has increased in 4 times in Ukraine: «It increased so that main money is made not on the gas, not on the metal, and money is made on the underpaid wages and pensions».

The report-and-election conference requested the proprietor and management of “DTEK PavlogradCoal”to provide timely budgetary funding of mining and ensuring of continuous operations of all “DTEK PavlogradCoal”departments in 2015,  maintain all working places and a number of employees, increase official salaries to the inflation rate size to all “DTEK PavlogradCoal” staff in 2015, take an active part in the first stage of indefinite protest action by picketing of the Cabinet of Ministers on 28 January 2015, apply to the Cabinet of Ministers to make a decision to maintain operation of the “Mining Law of Ukraine”, article 43 and Cabinet of Ministers’ decision No.887 of 12.08.2009 as well as continue sanatorium and spa treatment funding for employees and members of their families at health resorts, holiday centers and after-work sanatoriums, improvement of the children’s health at recreation centers, child-junior sport schools in Ukraine.

The Conference made a decision to apply to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, regional administration, “DTEK ltd.”, “DTEK PavlogradCoal” and Central Union with the proposal to have a reservation for “DTEK PavlogradCoal” employees in the mobilization period commencing on 1 March 2015 in Ukraine.

The Conference requested “DTEK PavlogradCoal” management to solve an issue of ecological advancement at the area of “Yubileinaya” mine ventilation shaft by means of taking measures on the garbage and debris removal from the mine area.

This day the Conference elected and adopted unanimously Sergey Yunak as the President of Dnepropetrovsk Territorial Union Organization of Coal-Miming Industry of Ukraine. This is his fourth appointment at the Mining Union.
